Capital One Campus

West Creek Campus

Overview

As part of an effort to build richer connections among people, teams, and functions within the campus, our Client sought to transform an existing four-story building into a state-of-the art workspace that aligns with their broader workplace priorities.

Seven workplace buildings in total were renovated. Each building was part of a broader plan designed to connect buildings and provide each one with its own identity and internal connectivity.

Project Highlights

Multi-building Corporate Campus, Richmond, VA

PSG’s four-person team included two on-site personnel managing the complete renovation of campus buildings. PSG implemented a team approach with the proper mix of design, construction, and financial skillsets that will serve as a model for forthcoming projects.

The Client desired to create a new brand identity and clear wayfinding in a LEED Silver facility. PSG provided solutions to meet the sustainability goals for the campus.

To achieve the new vision of workscapes and environments that support focus and productivity, the existing space was demolished to expose the raw architecture at the core of the building.

The large skylight over the central stair connects all four floors and brings natural light deep into the center of the building. Arrayed around the stair are a series of iconic meeting rooms, work lounges, coffee-focused cafés and nourish stations that provide amenities and support to the workplace that surrounds them.

Each element was individually considered and designed to support various workstyles; spontaneous, deliberate, focused and collaborative.

These support spaces are strategically planned to create smaller “neighborhoods” by breaking the larger floor plate into four quadrants with new workstations located close to the exterior, providing natural light and views to everyone.

Upgrades to the building included more efficient LED lighting, new interior finishes, and new furniture. The result is light-filled space that provides a greatly improved experience for the people who work there.
